Sugar Tax

There is an interesting debate in the news about sugar tax by the Government, in an attempt to reduce obesity and tooth decay, especially in children.

What do you think about sugar tax?

I feel it’s a good idea to help reduce the intake of sugary foods in our diet. But will it work? Tax has been on cigarettes and alcohol for many years, but I doubt it has made much difference in reducing those. I have my doubts that it will work for sugary food.

Instead, making healthier food cheaper to buy would be a better strategy than implementing a sugar tax to take in my opinion.
